Former Gombe State governorship candidate Hon. Umar Bello Gombe, who contested for governor in the 2019 election, has declared his full support for the candidacy of Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, CON, (Wazirin Pantami), as the party’s candidate for the 2027 Gombe State governorship election.
Hon. Umar Bello Gombe is a prominent grassroots politician and philanthropist active in real estate and other business ventures.
Bello declared his endorsement and pledged the full strength of his political structure to Professor Pantami's campaign during a visit to his office in Abuja.
Speaking during the visit, the former governorship candidate described Professor Isa Pantami as a dedicated and industrious leader whose expertise and track record of service are well recognized both in Nigeria and internationally.
“Everyone knows that Professor Pantami is a committed and selfless individual whose expertise is acknowledged not only in Nigeria, but globally,” he said.
Bello noted that Gombe State requires leadership that goes beyond merely constructing roads to focusing on addressing the fundamental needs of the populace.
“We in Gombe State want a leader who will bring meaningful development to the state—not just roads, but the provision of the actual necessities that the public needs,” he stated.
He assured the people of Gombe State and his supporters that, following this decision, he has thrown his complete weight behind Professor Pantami, urging them to join hands to ensure his victory in the 2027 election.
Furthermore, he announced that his entire political machinery across the state would work tirelessly to ensure the success of Professor Pantami's candidacy.
“In addition, my entire political structure will work tirelessly for Pantami. We will ensure we do everything possible to see him emerge victorious as the Governor of Gombe State in 2027,” he added.
Bello explained that his decision was based on his personal evaluation of Professor Pantami and his strong conviction that Pantami possesses the character and qualifications required to lead Gombe State.
“He is a person who, as soon as you meet him, you realize is truly fit to be the Governor of Gombe State. That is why every patriotic indigene of Gombe State should support him to achieve this noble vision,” he said.
Hon. Umar Bello's endorsement combines his personal backing with the full mobilization of his political structure behind Professor Pantami's candidacy, accompanied by a call to his supporters across Gombe State to join the effort.
This move further boosts the momentum and support Professor Pantami is building within the PDP as the party continues its preparations ahead of the 2027 Gombe State governorship election.
