The death of a young pastor, Rev. Nankur Peter Kundul, has been confirmed after a venomous snake bit him while he was carrying out missionary work in the village of Boltim, Gamakai District, Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Rev. Kundul, who was a pastor at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), was residing in the area as a missionary.
His colleague, Pastor Rinkyer Asaph, announced the passing on the social media pages of Christian Daily International on Monday.
He stated that the area where the deceased was carrying out missionary work is plagued by an abundance of venomous snakes, which have long been causing deaths.
Asaph explained that his friend died from the snake bite at Sabon Gida Clinic, and that within just one week, at least two other Christians had already died from similar snake bites.
