The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore group for the North-Central zone has called on President Bola Tinubu and other government authorities to intervene for the release of its National Leader, Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, who was re-arrested shortly after being released from the custody of the EFCC.
The group's North-Central Chairman, Idris Bebeji, made the call during a press conference held in Karu, Nasarawa State.
Bebeji stated that Bodejo had spent nearly four months in EFCC custody after being arrested by the DSS in Jalingo, Taraba State, at the time he was about to declare his intention to run for the Taraba Central Senatorial seat.
He said that after Bodejo fulfilled the conditions set for his release and was freed, DSS operatives re-arrested him on August 28, 2026.
The group appealed to Tinubu, the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, the Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi, APC leaders, and the DSS to look into the matter, in order to ensure that human rights are respected and due process is followed.
Bebeji emphasized that the group is not seeking special treatment for Bodejo above the law, but rather urging that legal procedures be properly observed. He also called on members of the group and the Fulani pastoralist community to remain calm and law-abiding while efforts are being made to resolve the issue through dialogue and constitutional means.
