"Dino Melaye to Head to Court Seeking Explanation Over the Inclusion of a Civil Servant's Name in President Tinubu's Campaign Committee."

Former Kogi Senator Dino Melaye Threatens Legal Action Against Tax Chief Over Inclusion in Tinubu’s Campaign Committee
Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has announced plans to sue the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji, over his appointment to President Bola Tinubu’s APC campaign committee for the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

Dino, a prominent party leader in Kogi State, argued that the appointment presents a potential conflict of interest, given that Adedeji is a serving public servant who was named Deputy Director of Campaign Fundraising for Tinubu.

Additionally, he criticized President Tinubu's decision to personally head his campaign committee, asserting that it reflects a lack of trust in other APC leaders.

Dino stated he is prepared to approach the court to determine whether Adedeji’s appointment complies with civil service regulations and the code of conduct governing public officers.

According to the campaign committee list released by the APC, President Tinubu serves as Chairman, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda serving as Vice Chairmen. Former Zamfara Governor Abdulaziz Yari was appointed Director-General of the committee, while Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma serves as Secretary.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun is the committee's Director of Campaign Fundraising, with Zacch Adedeji appointed as his deputy.
