The Ban On Riding Motorcycles Has Been Reinstated In 19 Out Of 34 Local Government Areas In Katsina

The Katsina State Government has once again imposed a ban on the movement of motorcycles and tricycles at night in 19 out of the 34 Local Government Areas in the state.

The Katsina State Government has reaffirmed the ban on the movement of commercial motorcycles and tricycles at night in 19 Local Government Areas of the state. This follows penalties that have been introduced, including a one-week suspension of service, and a ban on POS businesses, phone transfers, and motorcycle riding, as part of efforts to strengthen security and fight banditry.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Hon. Alhaji Nasiru Mu'azu, he announced that the law will take effect from *8:00 PM to 6:00 AM*. The statement said: _"This directive affects the Local Government Areas where the problems of bandits and other crimes related to insecurity are most severe."

The Local Government Areas affected by the law are: Sabonwa, Dandume, Funtua, Faskari, Bakori, Kankara, Danja, Kafur, Malumfashi, Musawa, Matazu, Dan Musa, Safana, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Charanchi, Jibia, Batsari, and Kankia.

The statement further emphasized that: "The public should understand that the purpose of this law is to restore lasting peace in these areas that have been plagued by security challenges."
