Donald Trump Thanked FIFA For Overturning His Country Player's Red Card

The White House, which is in one of the countries hosting the World Cup, has called on FIFA.

They asked the President of the organization, Gianni Infantino, to review the red card punishment given to the American forward, Folarin Balogun, in the match they played against Bosnia-Herzegovina in the 64th minute of the game.

The incident happened after the referee responded to a call to go and check the VAR screen to review what happened. After reviewing how it happened, he confirmed to viewers that Balogun had indeed committed a foul that warranted a red card.

As a result, the USA continued to play with 10 men until the end of the match, even though they had already scored 2 goals before that incident.

So this was an injustice, and America filed an appeal with FIFA. Fortunately, FIFA accepted the complaint and sent it directly to the disciplinary committee.

Some sources from FIFA stated that the White House cannot change the decision that was made, because of the power contained in Section 27 of the football governing body and the independence of the disciplinary committee to operate without interference. The committee is the final authority on all disciplinary decisions.

After a thorough review, FIFA eventually overturned the American player Balogun’s red card, and he will now play in the match where the USA will face Belgium in the Round of 16.

After the announcement that the card punishment was withdrawn, the President of the USA, Donald Trump, thanked FIFA and said, _"They did the right thing, and they corrected a major injustice that was done."
