A court in Albania has ordered the release of several protesters who were arrested after demonstrating against a proposed luxury resort project linked to Jared Kushner.
The protesters had gathered to oppose the planned development, arguing that it could harm the environment, limit public access to coastal areas, and negatively affect local communities. Demonstrators also called for greater transparency in the approval process for the project.
Following a court hearing, the judge ruled that those detained should be released while legal proceedings continue. Lawyers representing the protesters welcomed the decision, describing it as a victory for the right to peaceful assembly.
Supporters of the proposed resort say the project could bring significant investment, create jobs, and boost tourism in Albania. However, critics maintain that economic development should not come at the expense of environmental protection and public interest.
The case has drawn widespread attention both within Albania and internationally, highlighting the ongoing debate over balancing foreign investment, environmental conservation, and citizens' right to protest.
