AFCON: ‘Penalty is penalty’ – Kanu on Nigeria’s defeat to Morocco as he meets Wenger

Former Arsenal star, Nwankwo Kanu, on Thursday night, insisted that ‘penalty is penalty’ after Nigeria’s Super Eagles were defeated by Morocco in the AFCON semi-final tie on Wednesday.

Kanu, who was at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat supporting Eric Chelle’s side against the Atlas Lions, said the Super Eagles fought a good fight against the host nation.

Recall that Nigeria lost to Morocco 4-2 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the semi-final last-4 encounter.

The likes of Samuel Chukwueze and Bruno Onyemaechi failed to convert their penalty kicks as Nigeria lost to Morocco.

“Always good to see the Professor Arsene Wenger,” Kanu posted alongside a picture of himself with his former coach Arsene Wenger at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat.

“Penalty is Penalty. Big up Super Eagles. You fought a good fight.
