Trump: We May Launch Air or Ground Strikes on Nigeria

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened that the United States may carry out air or ground attacks on Nigeria if the Nigerian government fails to take decisive action against what he described as the killing of Christians in the country.

Speaking during a press briefing at the White House, Trump said America would not remain silent while Christians in Nigeria continue to face persecution and violence from terrorists.

He stated that he had received multiple reports of violence and killings in Northern Nigeria, accusing the Nigerian government of failing to enforce law and order and protect its citizens. “If Nigeria cannot protect its people - especially the Christians being killed because of their faith - then we will take action. That action could be through airstrikes or ground operations,” Trump said.

The warning has sparked widespread reactions among world powers, as the Nigerian government responded by saying it is actively investigating the situation and working closely with the U.S. to combat terrorism.

However, some security analysts warned that Trump’s statement could strain diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the United States, especially if perceived as an attempt to interfere in Nigeria’s internal affairs.
