Nigerian Troops Have Repelled An Attack By Terrorist In Shanono Local Government Area Of Kano State

 Nigerian troops, under the Operation Mesa Security Joint Task Force of the 3 Brigade, have repelled an attack by terrorists on communities in Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State, killing 19 of the assailants.

Daily Trust gathered that the troops, in collaboration with other security agencies, engaged the gunmen after receiving intelligence about their movement in the Ungwan Tudu, Ungwan Tsamiya, and Goron Dutse areas, at approximately 5:00 PM on November 1, 2025.

According to a statement released by Captain Babatunde Zubairu, Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 3 Brigade, the troops swiftly mobilized to counter the attack and ambushed the gunmen while they were passing through on motorcycles, leading to a fierce gunfight.

"During the encounter, 19 gunmen were neutralized, and several motorcycles and two mobile phones were recovered from them," the statement said.

The statement added that two soldiers and one vigilante lost their lives during the firefight.

Captain Zubairu said clearance operations are ongoing in the area to protect vulnerable communities that have long suffered from attacks, cattle rustling, and other crimes.
