Reports from the Middle East indicate that Israeli forces have killed a Palestinian in Gaza City as the ongoing assault on the enclave continues to intensify.
At the same time, Hamas has returned the bodies of three people, saying they died as a result of recent Israeli airstrikes on the territory.
Sources inside Gaza confirmed that the victims included civilians, among them a health worker who was reportedly helping to rescue others before being struck in the attack.
According to Al Jazeera, Israel stated that its operations aim to eliminate the remaining Hamas fighters hiding across parts of the city. However, Gaza’s health authorities say many innocent civilians continue to suffer from the bombardments.
Meanwhile, Hamas said it has handed over the three bodies to local authorities and vowed to continue searching for others who have gone missing or died during months of Israeli attacks.
For now, the security situation in Gaza remains tense, with fears of further escalation between the two sides.
