Zagazola Makama reported that security sources from N'Djamena confirmed on Monday that President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno had ordered the complete closure of the land border with Nigeria after intelligence revealed that some terrorist militants from northern Nigeria were planning to flee into Chadian territory.

Sources stated that Chadian military forces have been placed on high alert, with soldiers and armored military vehicles deployed along key routes connecting the two countries.

The president was reported to have warned that "no armed group or foreign country will be allowed to enter Chad by any means."

This move comes at a time of heightened tension in the region, amid increasing rumors that the US is conducting certain military operations in some parts of West Africa.

Security analysts have indicated that the border closure aims to protect Chad's full sovereignty and prevent the potential entry of armed groups that could exploit the instability in the region.
