The Nigeria Police Force, Kano State Command, has deployed 250 newly trained personnel to border local government areas across the state to bolster security and improve rapid response to distress calls.
The personnel completed a month-long combat and firearms handling training conducted at the No. 9 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron in Hotoro and No. 52 Squadron in Challawa.
Speaking during the passing-out ceremony, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, stated that the deployment is part of the command's strategic measures to fortify security along the state’s borders and other vulnerable areas facing security threats.
The Commissioner instructed the officers to remain vigilant, professional, and law-abiding, while strictly adhering to rules on firearm usage and respecting human rights.
He noted that the officers received training in combat tactics, marksmanship, intelligence gathering, explosive ordnance identification, rules on the use of force, human rights protection, and community policing strategies.
He added that continuous in-house training programs will be sustained to ensure that personnel in the command remain well-skilled and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
Following the ceremony, Bakori ordered the 250 officers to proceed to their assigned locations without delay, stating that this move will enhance Kano’s border security, boost police visibility, and improve the command's response efficiency to security threats.
