The police command in Kano State has deployed 250 officers who have completed their training to local government areas along the state's borders, to strengthen security and enhance rapid response to emergency calls.
The officers completed a one-month combat and weapons handling training conducted at the Mobile Police Force camps, No. 9 in Hotoro and No. 52 in Challawa.
Speaking during the passing-out ceremony, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, said the deployment is part of the command's strategy to reinforce security along the state's borders and other areas facing security threats.
He instructed the officers to be vigilant, professional, and law-abiding, while using their weapons responsibly and respecting the rights of the public.
The Commissioner stated that the officers received training in combat tactics, weapon handling, intelligence gathering, explosives recognition, use of force, human rights protection, and community policing strategies.
He said that ongoing in-house training would continue to ensure that officers of the command are equipped with the appropriate skills and tools to carry out their duties effectively.
After the ceremony, Bakori ordered the 250 officers to proceed immediately to their assigned posts, stating that the measure would enhance security along Kano's borders, increase police visibility across various locations, and improve the command's response to security threats.
