Northern Clerics Endorse Tinubu for Second Term at Jigawa Gathering.
At a meeting held in Dutse, Jigawa State, bringing together 500 Islamic clerics from nineteen (19) Northern states of Nigeria and Abuja, all attendees backed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remain in office until 2031.
Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, stated that nearly 500 Islamic scholars and religious leaders from the 19 Northern states and Abuja approved Tinubu's re-election bid for the 2027 presidential election.
Masari made these remarks during the Northern Muslim Intellectual Forum held in Dutse, Jigawa State.
He noted that participants discussed key issues regarding security challenges, the economy, infrastructure, and the development of the Northern region, with the clerics expressing satisfaction with the measures being implemented by the Tinubu administration.
According to the presidential aide, attendees passed a vote of confidence in Tinubu and urged Nigerians, particularly the Northern populace, to support his re-election alongside all APC candidates from top to bottom in 2027.
The event was attended by APC governors from Jigawa, Kano, Yobe, Sokoto, and Kaduna. Furthermore, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau I. Jibrin and Minister of Housing Alhaji Muttaƙa Rabe Darma attended this major inaugural gathering following the authorization of campaign activities for the upcoming 2027 elections.
