Pakistan says its security forces intercepted four drones that were allegedly launched from Afghanistan into its airspace.
Pakistani military officials said the country's air defence systems detected the drones before they reached their intended targets and successfully brought them down without causing significant damage or casualties.
Authorities said investigations are underway to determine the origin of the drones and identify those responsible for the incident. Security has also been tightened along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.
As of now, Afghan authorities have not issued an official response to Pakistan's claims.
The incident has renewed concerns about security along the shared border, where tensions and attacks involving armed groups have occurred in recent years.
