US President Donald Trump has claimed that the US military helped bring an end to the attacks on Christians in Nigeria.
Trump made this statement at a meeting held in Washington on Friday, where he said the measures taken by the US in Nigeria played a significant role in curbing the attacks allegedly carried out against followers of the Christian faith in areas plagued by terrorism.
He said that before the action, thousands of people, including women, children, and the elderly, lost their lives in attacks he described as horrific.
Trump also claimed that the US strikes weakened those responsible for these killings, stating that their leaders and other top commanders were killed.
However, the US President did not provide detailed information regarding the timing or the nature of the military operations he said were carried out in Nigeria.
