According to reports, Iranian missiles and drones were intercepted with assistance from US military assets deployed in the region. American officials said the operations were carried out to protect allies and prevent wider regional instability.

At the same time, Israeli forces reportedly carried out additional strikes in southern Lebanon and other areas, saying the attacks targeted positions linked to the armed group Hezbollah.

Israeli officials accused Hezbollah of launching attacks across the border and said military operations would continue to counter security threats.

The escalation has raised fears of a broader regional conflict involving multiple countries and armed groups across the Middle East.

Iran condemned the Israeli strikes and warned against further attacks, while Hezbollah said it would continue responding to Israeli military actions.

International leaders and the United Nations have called for restraint and urgent diplomatic efforts to prevent the violence from spreading further.

Analysts warn that continued exchanges between Israel, Iran, and Hezbollah could destabilize the region further and increase the risk of a larger war in the Middle East.
