Trump Says Iran Shot Down US Helicopter Over Strait of Hormuz, Vows to Respond

The United States President Donald Trump has accused Iran of shooting down a US military helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz and says the United States will respond to the incident.

According to reports, the aircraft a US Army AH-64 Apache helicopter, went down while patrolling near the strategic waterway. U.S. officials said the two crew members were safely rescued and are in stable condition.

It remains unclear whether the helicopter was shot down by Iranian forces or whether it suffered a technical failure or another type of incident. U.S. military officials have not yet confirmed the exact cause.

Trump, however, stated that he had been informed by military sources that Iran was responsible and warned that the United States “must respond” to the attack.

The incident comes amid already heightened tensions in the region, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route for oil and energy supplies.

Military analysts say the situation could further escalate instability in the Middle East, especially if retaliatory actions follow.

The U.S. military and defense officials are expected to release a full investigation report as the situation develops.
