The deceased, who was the eldest son of a former chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area, Alhaji Elisha Tula Gwamis, died at the age of 44.

Reports indicate that some residents of the area said the deceased had been battling illness and distress for some time before his death. However, no official source has yet confirmed the exact cause of his death.

During a condolence visit, the father of the deceased expressed his grief over the loss of his son, stating that Lumi was in good health and no one expected the incident to happen.

"My son Lumi was in good health. We didn't know what would happen until we received news of his death. This is a great loss to us," said Elisha Tula Gwamis.

The funeral of the deceased is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 10, in Boi town.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone D in Bauchi, has denied rumors circulating that the officer committed suicide.

The unit's public relations officer, Umar Abdullahi, said there is no official information confirming such claims.

He explained that the deceased had reported to the unit after being transferred from Tin Can Island Port, before subsequently proceeding on his annual leave.

Abdullahi added that the service learned of his death from his father, emphasizing that they would rely only on verified and authentic information, not rumors.
