Rescue teams in Laos have located five of the seven people trapped inside a cave following flooding and partial collapses within the cave system.
Rescue officials said the five individuals were found alive after days of difficult search and rescue operations carried out under dangerous conditions. Teams used boats, motion-detection equipment, and expert divers to reach the area where the victims were trapped.
Reports indicate that the group had entered the cave for tourism purposes before heavy rainfall caused flooding that blocked the exit routes.
Those rescued were transported to medical facilities for health examinations, while emergency workers continued efforts to locate the remaining two missing individuals.
