Residents of the Gama-Giwa and its surrounding areas in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State have complained about a bandit leader who is terrorizing them and imposing heavy monetary taxes on them, after they had already done a whole rainy season of farming for him.
As published on the Yarima BK Dtm page on Facebook, a bandit leader has now imposed a tax of ₦50 million (approximately $60,700) on the villagers in Zamfara State and has given them a one-week deadline to gather the money for him. He also assured them that any villager who fails to quickly bring the money will face punishment.
The people in the area have confirmed their lack of trust in the bandit leader and his followers, as they place no value on human life. This is why they are forced to give him whatever he demands.
