Peter Obi Spoke About Donald J. Trump's Statement

The former Nigerian Labour Party presidential candidate said US President Donald Trump's threat to deploy his country's troops to fight terrorism, and even placing the country on his watchlist, is worrisome and should be of grave concern to all patriots.

Obi stated this on his X page, where he said every patriotic Nigerian must be alarmed by what is happening.

"Undoubtedly, Nigeria is suffering from a security crisis, which has caused the death of many people and loss of property. Amnesty International reported that at least 10,000 people were killed in Nigeria since May 2023, and as I have always emphasized, the killings in Nigeria are tragic and unacceptable, and must be tackled urgently."

Obi said the problem can be solved by having good leadership, "although the problem did not start with this administration, there is a lack of competence and commitment on the part of the present APC government in tackling the security challenges facing the country."

He said Nigeria and the US have a history of good relations, "and this relationship should not be taken for granted now. This new development requires robust diplomacy and dialogue between the two countries to find solutions to the problem."
