US economic adviser Bessent has confirmed that the scheduled meeting between former US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will still take place despite ongoing trade tensions between the two nations.
According to Bessent, the main goal of the meeting is to strengthen mutual understanding and discuss ways to resolve long-standing trade disputes between the United States and China. He added that although there are significant differences in economic policies, both sides recognize the importance of continuing dialogue to prevent further escalation in the future.
