The Darika group in Katsina State has declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, ahead of the 2027 elections, pledging to continue backing the APC party.
The Special Assistant to Governor Radda on Darika Affairs, Malam Mahi Bello, led the announcement on Thursday at the Ameera Events Centre in Katsina during a special prayer organized to endorse the political movement of Tinubu and Radda.
The event, organized by the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation and the Maituraka Foundation, also featured the distribution of economic empowerment support to 500 women.
Speaking at the event, Governor Radda described leadership as a trust bestowed by the public on elected officials, stating that leaders must remain mindful of their responsibilities.
The governor urged citizens to evaluate governments based on policies, achievements, and visible impact rather than political sentiments. He also called on the public to cooperate with security agencies and provide vital information to help combat insecurity.
Former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, urged scholars, community leaders, and individuals of high moral character to actively participate in politics, noting that doing so would promote good governance.
Similarly, Sheikh Nasiru Dahiru Usman Bauchi, Chairman of the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation, commended Governor Radda for his support to the public, particularly in education, youth development, and economic empowerment.
The Chairman of the Maituraka Foundation, Abdulaziz Maituraka, reaffirmed the foundation's backing for the state government and the APC, promising to sustain programs aimed at empowering women, youth, and the general public.
