Two firefighting helicopters collided near Athens, the capital of Greece, as the country continued battling widespread wildfires fuelled by extreme heat and strong winds.
According to reports, the helicopters were carrying out water-dropping operations to contain the fires when the collision occurred. Emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
