Ukrainian Drone Attacks on Russia Kill at Least 8, Wound Dozens

At least eight people have been killed and dozens more injured following a wave of Ukrainian drone attacks targeting several regions in Russia, according to Russian authorities.

Reports say the attacks struck residential buildings and other key locations, causing significant casualties and property damage. Emergency services were deployed to the affected areas to rescue victims, treat the injured, and extinguish fires triggered by the strikes.

Russia's Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed a number of the incoming drones, but some managed to penetrate the country's defences and hit their intended targets.

Ukraine did not immediately comment on the reported attacks. However, since the war began, Kyiv has increasingly relied on long-range drones to target locations it says are linked to Russia's military operations.

The latest attacks underscore the continuing escalation of the conflict, with both Russia and Ukraine carrying out strikes deep inside each other's territory as the war enters another intense phase.
