Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, early this Wednesday morning at Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.
The former minister was arrested while he was about to board a private jet to Abuja.
Daily Trust reports that security sources said Nnaji, who resigned from his position last October following a controversy, was arrested at the request of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over allegations of certificate forgery.
The DSS later handed him over to the anti-graft agency.
According to sources, the ICPC had repeatedly invited the former minister following petitions regarding his management of the ministry's affairs, and consequently sought the DSS's assistance in apprehending him.
Nnaji resigned as minister on October 7, 2025, following a dispute concerning his certificates from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and the NYSC.
