Amnesty Says RSF Committed Ethnic Cleansing in Sudan’s El-Fasher

Amnesty International has accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of committing ethnic cleansing in and around El-Fasher, citing evidence gathered during its latest investigation.

According to Amnesty International, the report documents allegations of unlawful killings, forced displacement, destruction of civilian property, and attacks targeting communities based on their ethnic identity. The organization said these actions may amount to serious violations of international humanitarian and human rights law.

The RSF has previously denied allegations of deliberately targeting civilians, while the conflict in Sudan continues to generate competing claims from the warring parties.

Amnesty International has called for an independent international investigation and urged the international community to take steps to protect civilians, ensure humanitarian access, and hold those responsible for any crimes accountable.

The conflict in Sudan has displaced millions of people and created one of the world's most severe humanitarian crises, with ongoing fighting continuing to affect civilians across several regions.
