On Wednesday evening, bandits entered the village of 'Yan Kamaye of Tsanyawa Local government, Kano State, and stole over 200 animals. However, the security forces in the area made serious efforts to ensure they recovered all the stolen cattle.
Later in the middle of Wednesday night, 15/06/2026 around 11:35pm, some bandits from Kachalla Muhammadu’s group sneaked in through Kogari bush path and entered Bargumawa village in Musawa Local Government Area. They gathered the remaining cattle and sheep they found and drove them into the forest.
Luckily, C-Watch officers in the area laid an ambush and repelled the bandits, recovering all the stolen animals. They then moved them and spent the night with them.
While compiling this report, we got information that during the exchange of gunfire, some of the cattle whose number is unknown ran back to where they were stolen from (Bargumawa).
In the end, the C-Watch members counted seventeen (17) cattle and forty-three (43) sheep, making a total of 70 animals exactly that they recovered from the forest bandits. Around 12 noon of Thursday, the animals were handed over to the herders after the authorities interviewed them.
In a chat I had with one of the herders, he expressed great happiness and relief that Allah restored their right quickly. He also praised and gave special thanks to the C-Watch members who risked their lives to help recover their property.
However, during the clash there was no success in arresting or killing any of the terrorists. But as soon as they heard gunshots, they ran for their lives and abandoned the animals in order to save their lives.
