This Friday morning, the Governor of Katsina, Malam Umaru Dikko Radda, stood in for Dr. Mustapha Inuwa to conduct the wedding of Dr. Mustapha Inuwa’s daughter for a dowry of ₦500,000
The event happened today, Friday 17th July, 2026. The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, officiated the marriage of Dr. Mustapha Inuwa’s daughter, Muntazam Mustapha, to her groom Sulaiman Umar at her father’s house in Katsina city.
The event took place after the delegation of Vice President Kashim Shettima’s representatives arrived in Katsina town, because the President’s official working visit prevented him from coming himself.
The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, the Governor of Zamfara, Dauda Lawal Dare, and the Governor of Katsina, Malam Umaru Dikko, represented the Vice President. Governor Radda was the host, and he stood as the father of Dr. Mustapha’s daughter, while the Governor of Kaduna, Uba Sani, stood as the groom’s guardian.
“As for the reason they came, they came to seek marriage, which Kashim Shettima sent them for. I didn’t even expect that they were the ones who would come. I thought maybe the Governor of Borno would come since the groom has ties with him, but then I saw them. So after they came, they asked that the wedding should be conducted immediately instead of just asking, and so it was conducted right away.” These were the words of the bride’s father while speaking to journalists.
“They came for marriage proposals, it was not for political issue. After the wedding was conducted, they went inside, had tea, and then left. I don’t know if any political talk happened, unless it was in their hearts.” This was Dr. Mustapha Inuwa’s answer to a journalist’s question.
The wedding ceremony was attended by the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawan Dare, the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, the Chief of Staff, Government House Katsina, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, and the Secretary to the Governor, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji, along with other dignitaries from different parts of the country.
