Three people were killed as Ukraine and Russia exchanged cross-border attacks in the latest escalation of the conflict between the two countries.
In Russia’s Bryansk Oblast, officials said two people were killed and two others injured in an attack that authorities blamed on Ukrainian forces.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast, a 44-year-old woman was killed in a drone strike reportedly carried out by Russian forces. Another woman was injured in the attack.
Reports indicate that both sides continued launching drone and missile strikes against strategic targets, including energy facilities, railway infrastructure, and other critical installations.
Security analysts say the ongoing exchange of attacks highlights the intensifying nature of the war despite continued international efforts to bring the parties back to the negotiating table.
The conflict between Ukraine and Russia has resulted in significant loss of life and widespread destruction, while governments around the world continue to call for de-escalation and a diplomatic solution to the crisis.
Observers warn that further cross-border attacks could increase regional instability and complicate attempts to achieve a lasting peace agreement.
