IAEA Demands Verification of Iran Nuclear Ambitions Amid ‘Statement War’

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has called for independent verification of Iran's nuclear activities amid escalating exchanges of accusations and conflicting public statements between Iran and Western governments.

The agency stressed that only inspections and technical verification can determine the true nature of Iran's nuclear program, urging all parties to cooperate fully with international monitoring efforts.

The call comes as tensions have intensified over Iran's nuclear ambitions, with officials from different countries issuing conflicting statements about the status of negotiations, uranium enrichment, and compliance with international obligations.

Iran has repeatedly maintained that its nuclear program is intended solely for peaceful purposes, including energy production and scientific research. However, several Western countries continue to express concerns that the program could potentially be used to develop nuclear weapons.

The IAEA said transparent cooperation and unrestricted access for its inspectors are essential to building international confidence and reducing tensions surrounding the issue.

Analysts say the agency's latest appeal highlights the importance of technical evidence over political rhetoric as diplomatic efforts continue to resolve the long-running dispute over Iran's nuclear program.
