Police have arrested a man named Joe after the body of his girlfriend was found in his residence at Ajidi Street, Edjeba, in Warri, Delta State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, when the woman visited him.
Daily Trust reported that the couple had spent days living together in the house before the woman's death.
A resident of the area stated that the woman was seen moving about in good health in the neighborhood a day before her body was found.
Residents of the area said they heard screaming sounds coming from the house on Wednesday morning, which prompted the landlord to notify security officials. Upon arrival, the police found the woman's body in the suspect's room.
Joe was arrested, and the woman's body was taken to the mortuary for investigation and an autopsy to determine the cause of her death.
The spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident but did not provide further details.
