The World Health Organization (WHO) has welcomed the recovery of five Ebola patients amid ongoing efforts to contain the outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Health officials described the recoveries as an encouraging development in the fight against the virus, especially as medical teams continue working under difficult conditions in affected regions.

According to WHO representatives, the patients received treatment at specialized Ebola care centers, where healthcare workers have been providing emergency medical support, monitoring, and infection control measures.

The organization said the successful recoveries demonstrate the importance of early detection, rapid treatment, and community cooperation in controlling the spread of Ebola.

However, WHO also warned that the outbreak remains a serious threat, particularly due to insecurity, population displacement, and attacks on healthcare facilities in eastern Congo.

Medical experts stressed that continued international support, funding, and public awareness are essential to preventing further transmission of the virus.

The Ebola outbreak has raised growing concern across Central and East Africa, with neighboring countries strengthening border surveillance and emergency preparedness measures to reduce the risk of regional spread.
