Rescue teams in Laos are continuing urgent efforts to save two people who remain trapped inside a cave after flooding blocked the exit routes.

Reports say rescuers have already located and rescued five of the seven people who entered the cave before heavy rainfall caused flooding and partial collapses within the cave system.

Emergency teams are using expert divers, boats, and motion-detection equipment to reach the remaining victims, while operations continue under extremely difficult conditions due to rising water levels and darkness inside the cave.

Officials said time is becoming increasingly critical because limited air supply and the risk of additional cave collapses could further endanger those still trapped.

The rescued individuals were taken to hospital for medical examinations, while families and local residents continue hoping for the safe rescue of the remaining two people.

The incident has attracted widespread attention in Laos and internationally, as authorities continue around-the-clock rescue operations.
