According to Arewa Updates, this was contained in a statement issued by the board’s spokesperson, Comrade Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, on behalf of the board’s executive secretary, Malam Abba El-Mustapha.

The statement explained that the board took the decision after the two actors appeared in a video which it described as contrary to decency, an action that sparked public controversy among the people of Kano State.

The board stated that its regulations empower it to suspend any member of the Kannywood industry from film activities in Kano, warning that violating the ban could attract severe penalties under the law.

The executive secretary, Malam Abba El-Mustapha, urged Kannywood practitioners to avoid anything that could bring disgrace to them or tarnish the industry’s reputation.

He also called on film producers and directors in the industry to respect the suspension order, noting that working with the banned actors would amount to a direct challenge to the board’s regulations.
