The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has released a statement regarding the participation of the Iran national football team in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
In a message posted on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said the Iranian national team is welcome to take part in the tournament. However, he added that he does not believe it is appropriate for them to attend due to concerns about their life and safety.
Trump said: “The Iran National Soccer Team is welcome to the World Cup, but I really don’t believe it is appropriate that they be there, for their own life and safety.”
The statement comes at a time of rising tensions and conflict involving Iran, United States, and Israel, which has raised concerns about security during major international events such as the FIFA World Cup.
