The government of Australia has announced plans to send missiles to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and deploy a surveillance aircraft to support defence efforts in the Gulf region.
Officials said the move comes as tensions rise in the Middle East, particularly amid conflicts involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
Australia said the surveillance aircraft will help monitor airspace and detect potential threats, aiming to protect shipping routes and key energy infrastructure in the region.
Authorities added that the deployment is part of broader security cooperation between Australia and its allies to maintain stability and defence readiness in the Gulf.
The decision comes as several countries strengthen their military presence in the region amid fears that the escalating conflict could threaten global energy supplies and international trade routes.
