Governor Dauda Lawal Appoints Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Tsafe As Vice-Chancellor Of ZAMSUT

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the appointment of Professor Abdullahi Ibrahim Tsafe as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Zamfara State University, Talata Mafara (ZAMSUT), for a single term of five years.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was announced on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, following the recommendations of the University’s Governing Council, in line with established procedures.

Professor Tsafe is a seasoned academic with a distinguished career in teaching, research, and university administration. He obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy degree in 2006 and was elevated to the rank of Professor in 2013 by Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS).

He has held several key administrative positions, including serving as Dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Life Sciences at UDUS. Since 2018, he has been a Visiting Professor at Zamfara State University, where he currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Science.

Governor Lawal expressed confidence that the new Vice-Chancellor’s vast academic and administrative experience would contribute significantly to the growth and repositioning of ZAMSUT, in line with the administration’s commitment to strengthening education and promoting academic excellence in the state.

The government urged the university community to extend its cooperation and support to Professor Tsafe as he assumes the leadership of the institution.
