The Nigerian Army has called for citizens' support to successfully combat terrorists and other security threats.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, stated this at the 2025 Year-End Civil-Military Relations Conference in Jos, Plateau State.
Shaibu emphasized the importance of the media in reporting truthfully and accurately on the military's operations and avoiding the spread of false news concerning security.
He added that any information that could incite conflict or pose a danger to the nation should be verified before dissemination, especially information produced using AI technology.
The Chief of Civil-Military Relations, Major General Musa Etsu-Ndagi, said the army would continue to provide accurate information to the media to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between the military and the public.
The conference focused on how the military and the media can collaborate to address security challenges and ensure peace in the nation.
