FG Sets Up High-Level Delegation To Engage U.S. Over Allegations Of Christian Genocide

The Federal Government has dispatched a high-powered delegation to the United States to engage American officials over recent allegations of “Christian genocide” in Nigeria.

The delegation is led by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and is expected to provide clarifications, present security data, and reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to religious freedom and the protection of all citizens.

Members of the team include the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu; Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Olatunbosun Oluyede; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lt. Gen. E.A.P. Undiendeye; Special Adviser to the NSA, Ms. Idayat Hassan; Director of Foreign Relations (ONSA), Ambassador Ibrahim Babani; Acting Chargé d’Affaires, Ambassador Nuru Biu; and Mr. Paul Alabi of the Nigerian Embassy in Washington D.C.

The team will meet U.S. government officials, lawmakers, and policy groups to address concerns, counter misinformation, and strengthen security cooperation.

Their findings and recommendations will be submitted to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after the mission.
