Sudan’s Army Captures Two Areas in North Kordofan as RSF Accused of Burning More Bodies

Sudan’s conflict has taken another violent turn as the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced that they have captured two strategic areas in North Kordofan State, pushing back the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) after weeks of intense fighting.

According to military sources, SAF troops advanced into the regions following heavy clashes, claiming they successfully cleared RSF fighters and regained control of important routes used for transporting supplies. The army says this progress is part of a broader campaign to regain territories lost earlier in the conflict.

Meanwhile, disturbing reports continue to emerge from local communities accusing the RSF of burning bodies of civilians and fighters, a practice that rights groups condemn as an attempt to hide evidence of atrocities. Witnesses say the latest incidents occurred in areas recently overrun by RSF fighters, deepening fears about escalating human rights abuses across the region.

Humanitarian organisations warn that the situation in North Kordofan is becoming increasingly dire, with thousands of civilians trapped between fighting forces, limited access to medical care, and growing food shortages.

As both sides continue to exchange accusations, international calls for a ceasefire and humanitarian access have so far failed to halt the violence. The conflict, now in its second year, continues to spread across new regions, threatening even more instability in Sudan.
