Kebbi Deputy Speaker Abducted by Suspected Gunmen

The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of the Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Muhammad Sama’ila Bagudo, who represents the Bagudo constituency.

According to reports by Punch Newspaper, the lawmaker was kidnapped by suspected armed men from the Lakurawa area around 8:00 p.m. on Friday, while he was on his way home after observing the Isha (night) prayer.

Police authorities stated that the kidnappers are still holding him captive, but security operatives have launched an operation to rescue him safely.

The command assured the public that it is doing everything possible to ensure his immediate release and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
