The Nigerian Custom Service NCS Has Issued A Warning Regarding A Message Circulating On Social Media

The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has issued a warning regarding a message circulating on social media that claims to show the number of shortlisted candidates from each state for the final round of the 2025 recruitment exercise. In a statement released today, the service said this information did not originate from it and is false.

According to the service, this year's recruitment process began with an official announcement on December 27, 2024, which attracted 573,523 applicants for the three main categories: Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant. From these, 286,697 were screened based on their documents and subsequently invited to the first round of the Computer-Based Test (CBT).

The service stated that among those who took this test, only applicants for the Superintendent category were granted the opportunity to proceed to the next stage, which will be held at specialized centers in each of the country's geo-political zones. The service added that this process is designed to ensure fairness, equity, and compliance with the federal character principle for representation, while also ensuring merit.

The NCS drew the attention of citizens, especially job seekers, to rely on its official websites for authentic information and to avoid spreading false information that could mislead or deceive people.

The service also reminded applicants that all new information regarding recruitment is published directly on the NCS Recruitment Update Portal at https://updates.customs.gov.ng.
