David Ben-Gurion was born on October 16, 1886, in the Polish city of Płońsk in the Russian Empire (present-day Poland).
David Ben-Gurion was the founder and first prime minister of the State of Israel, a prominent Zionist leader, and a key figure in the founding of Israel. He was originally a Polish-born immigrant who immigrated to Palestine. He served as Prime Minister of Israel from 1948-1953 and from 1955-1963.
Ben-Gurion played a key role in the creation of the State of Israel.

 
David Ben-Gurion

As chairman of the Executive Committee of the Jewish Agency from 1935, he organized the creation of a homeland for the Jewish people in Palestine. On May 14, 1948, he proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel and signed the Israeli Declaration of Independence. During the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, he led the country, integrating the various Jewish militias into the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and overseeing military strategy.

.First Prime Minister

As prime minister, Ben-Gurion established institutions and infrastructure in Israel. He oversaw the influx of Jewish immigrants. He also ordered the invasion of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula in 1956 during the Suez Crisis.

.Retired 

Ben-Gurion retired in 1963 and moved to the kibbutz of Sde Boker in the Negev desert. After leaving his party in 1965 due to political disputes, he retired from politics in 1970 and focused on writing his autobiography. He died on December 1, 1973, and was buried in Sde Boker.
