The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced an extension of the ongoing collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Anambra State.
According to the commission, the extension is aimed at giving eligible voters more time to collect their PVCs ahead of the upcoming governorship election in the state. INEC stated that the decision followed reports that many residents had not yet collected their cards due to various challenges.
The new deadline will allow more citizens to participate in the democratic process, ensuring that no eligible voter is disenfranchised during the election.
INEC also appealed to the public to take advantage of the additional days to collect their PVCs and urged political parties and community leaders to help sensitize residents on the importance of voter participation.
