According to reports from Ankara, those who filed the case accused Özel of misusing party funds. However, the court ruled that there was insufficient evidence to support the allegations, leading to the case’s dismissal.

The opposition party’s lawyer hailed the verdict as a victory for democracy and justice, saying:  “There was an attempt to use the judiciary to remove a political leader, but the truth has prevailed.”

Meanwhile, several politicians have welcomed the ruling, saying it will strengthen public trust in the justice system in Turkey.

The opposition party stated that it will continue its political activities peacefully, focusing on improving the country’s economy and citizens’ welfare.
