World Leaders Are Set To Discuss The Israel–Palestine Conflict

World leaders are set to discuss the Israel–Palestine conflict, climate change, and the role of the UN in modern times.

UNGA 80

At the 2025 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80) currently taking place in New York, more than 140 countries are participating with presidents and senior ministers to deliberate on critical global issues. Among the key topics to be prioritized are the Israel–Palestine conflict, tensions in East Asia, and climate change. At this gathering, France and Saudi Arabia led a resolution supporting the recognition of Palestine as an independent state, a position some European countries have endorsed.

Leaders are also expected to present new proposals on reducing harmful emissions, combating poverty, and strengthening sustainable trade systems. Given the various challenges facing the world, the UNGA meeting has become an avenue for countries to express their interests and strengthen cooperation in the search for lasting solutions.

Other expected highlights include debates between the United States and other major powers, particularly on the impact of their foreign policies and security issues. Likewise, the Middle East remains at the center of global attention as ongoing conflicts continue to threaten peace.

This annual gathering has become an important platform for countries to outline their policies, build partnerships, negotiate new alliances, and reaffirm support for the UN in an increasingly turbulent world.
