The Kano State Fire Service has rescued 13 people following a building collapse in the Dan Dishe area of Kwanar Yashi, located in Ungoggo Local Government Area of the state.
The agency's Public Relations Officer, Saminu Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Kano.
According to the statement, the service received a distress call at approximately 4:32 a.m. from a staff member of the agency, Aminu Sani-Warure, who works in the emergency call reception unit.
The statement said that upon receiving the report, the service quickly deployed firefighting personnel to the scene of the incident.
The Fire Service stated that investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the building collapse.
The Fire Service also called on the public to always observe appropriate safety measures, especially during the rainy season, to avoid the occurrence of such disasters.
